Hi, I’m Scarlett — founder of Build Fairy.

I have been a passionate gamer for all of my life. Gaming is what I love to do. Once I picked up MMORPGs as an adolescent, I never looked back.

When YouTube first became a thing, I found another passion – making gaming videos.

I grew a love for sharing funny moments and adding a layer of creativity to the hobby that I already adored. My channel was the home to my memories. It was also a place where I could find and meet new friends.

🛑 Until everything came to a stop.

A close “friend” betrayed me and hacked my e-mail account. I worried about my in-game characters, but more than that, I feared for my channel. Before the hacker could get in and create a mess, I took down all of my videos and deleted my YouTube account.

It’s hard to put into words how dark my world became during that time. I had a lot of other things going on in my life, and just like that, my haven was taken away from me.

I spent the years after the attack trying, and repeatedly failing, to get another channel off the ground. When Twitch came around, I also dabbled in the world of streaming. But nothing would ever stick.

I can’t say whether it was just an artifact of growing up, or if that event had anything to do with it, but I developed severe social anxiety. Online AND offline.

⚔️ Build Fairy is my attempt to fight back. Against my hacker, against my anxiety. Build Fairy is here because I now know that I am not alone.
